Torsionally Flexible Couplings

NENFLEX SAN Type flexible coupling is designed to facilitate quick disconnection without disturbing the driving or the driven unit. Simply remove two sets of bolts and the spacer member will drop out. Axial movement of shaft is not required.

SAN - Series couplings are available in standard spacer lengths of 75mm, 90mm, 100mm, 140mm and in any length as a non-standard coupling.

The simple easy to assemble design of SAN coupling provides for torsional vibration damping, handles misalignments, reduces noise and accommodates shock loads.

Also available couplings in ready to install finish bores to ISO-Fit H7 and keyways to JS-9 tolerances.

Ask for your copy of our engineering software NENSOFT for coupling selection and drawing.

Typical Applications : General drives, back pull-out pumps & compressors, hydraulics and machinery where quick disconnection between drives is required.

  The new NENFLEX® advantage!

Fig.1 shows a conventional spider with a straight edge having 100% contact between driver jaw and driven jaw, even at no load condition. Obviously, when torque is applied the resultant force extrudes the elastomeric material of the spider only in the outward direction as illustrated in fig. 2& 3. As such there is a continuous abraised movement of the spider arm against the entire surface of the jaws which causes substantial heat build-up and hysterisis failure of the spider.

As illustrated in fig. 4 the new NENFLEX spider has a special profile which allows only a partial contact of the spider arm with the driver & the driven jaws of the coupling at no load. When torque is applied, the entire surface of the spider arm comes into contact with the driver & the driven jaws as illustrated in fig. 5 & 6, which enhances the service lifer of the spider & also allows a larger load carrying capacity.
